How to Achieve Mindfulness and Finally De-stress This Summer

Are thoughts constantly swirling around you head and distracting you from what's going on in front of you?  Are you always worried about things in life without actually paying attention?  When you are overwhelmed with responsibilities, it can be difficult to live life in the present moment.  Mindfulness is one of the best ways that you can truly be present and de-stress from all that life brings your way.  In women's therapy in Winter Garden, you can achieve these goals and more.  There are a few ways that you can practice mindfulness and finally de-stress this summer.

Sit Still and Be Present

Constantly moving around and staying busy can actually distract you from what's going on right in front of you.  Take a few minutes to just sit still, without any tasks on your plate, and sit with each moment.  Learning how to stop is sometimes a skill that takes dedicated practice, especially for those who like to stay busy.  However, the first step to achieving mindfulness is learning how to sit with yourself and truly reflect on your emotions.

Listen to Your Emotions

Once you sit still, listen to how your body is feeling.  Are you overwhelmed, sad, happy, tired, or just uninterested?  When you recognize what your body is feeling, you will be able to provide it what it needs.  Listening to your emotions can teach you about what you are lacking in your life, and it can help you fill voids that you maybe never knew existed when you are constantly on-the-go.

Practice Gratitude

Practicing gratitude can open your eyes to what is important in your life.  Take the time to sit back and reflect on what makes your life exciting, what keeps you happy, and what you value most.  Prioritize these people, events, hobbies, or interests so that you can truly get the most out of your life.  By forgetting to keep things in perspective, you may get overwhelmed by things that are out of your control.  Gratitude can keep you grounded when things get out of control.

Forgive Others

Forgiveness is another way to let go of things that are beyond your control.  Holding on to grudges or refusing to let go of old issues can get in the way of living to the fullest in the present moment.  Learn to let go of things that maybe once negatively affected your life by forgiving others.  Forgiveness can be difficult, but it only takes one step at a time in order to understand that it is okay to move on.

These are a few ways that you can achieve mindfulness and de-stress this summer.  If you are feeling overwhelmed with constant business or you have a lengthy to-do list, you may never truly feel like you are enjoying the present moment.  However, with women's therapy in Winter Garden, you can learn how to enjoy your life and be more mindful in each day.  Contact Orlando Thrive Therapy to hear more today.
