Who Riley Works With & Riley's Approach
Riley’s passion for therapy is personal. Shaped by both lived experience and professional training, she specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, addiction, codependency, grief, perfectionism, self-esteem, trauma, and major life transitions. She understands the courage it takes to begin this work and considers it an honor to walk alongside clients as they move through it. In sessions, Riley serves as a collaborative partner, integrating evidence-based practices like CBT, ACT, expressive arts, and mindfulness with somatic techniques such as grounding, body awareness, and breathwork to support healing at both the cognitive and nervous system levels.
Whether you’re stuck in unhealthy patterns, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, burdened by past trauma, or disconnected in your relationships, Riley meets you where you are, with empathy and curiosity. Together, you’ll explore the patterns and pain that are keeping you stuck and begin to create space for healing, clarity, and change. She believes that life’s challenges, no matter how big or small, deserve to be acknowledged. Therapy with Riley is more than just symptom management- it’s about building a life that feels true to you, where you feel more connected, empowered, and at home in yourself.
Clinical Background
Riley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Clemson University, and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Methodist University, where she specialized in addiction and trauma. She has clinical experience across both inpatient and outpatient levels of care. Riley completed her graduate-level internship at an adult detention center, where she provided trauma-informed individual and crisis counseling to incarcerated clients, addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. Riley is passionate about creating a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, process trauma, and build lasting change. She integrates evidence-based practices with empathy and curiosity to help clients navigate life transitions, break free from unhelpful patterns, and foster resilience and growth.
