In this Orlando counseling self-care series let’s explore what might be causing negative feelings and how to think more positively to improve mood during these changing times. Gaining insight into reasons for negative thinking can help.
When you begin using self-care daily habits and positive affirmations, you stop self-limiting beliefs that create barriers to your happiness.
There is a shift that is happening in the world. Individuals are turning more towards external forces to control and direct the course of their life and perception of reality.
By doing this we are giving away our power, not cherishing it, and allowing anything to replace that power with its own version of how you should act, think or feel.
This causes you to develop a perception of reality where you start to believe negativity over positivity and begin flooding our mental state with negative associations about yourself and the world you live in.
If you have done this, STOP, take a deep breath, and fill in this statement with your name “I am…(name)”. You are you, and only you knows what is truly best for you.
You are the creator of your own reality and the beliefs, values and perceptions that come along with it. When you give your power away to external forces to have them dictate the direction of your reality, you are compromising what you need and what you feel for the sake of others.
You are you, you are great, strong, wonderful, passionate, amazing, and glorious. The challenge is to begin to believe this. Everything about you is individualized and unique. Celebrate this, embrace this, and enjoy this.
No one in the world is like you or can ever be like you. When you start comparing yourself to the outside world you began to say that who you are is not enough for this world and that you are flawed.
You are not a robot programmed daily to feel specific emotions and needs at certain points. You are human, you are alive. You have the power to create any reality that you want for yourself and you know that you deserve for yourself.
This can only happen if you believe in yourself and begin to flood those negative thoughts with positive ones. Ask yourself who you are, list out the strengths that you make you, you. The world is a unique place with unique individuals.
You are one of those individuals, so make it known and embrace who you are and create the reality that you want!
