Matt Militano is a Level 1 graduate intern in the Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development program. He works exclusively with clients in the Orlando area in private practice at Orlando Thrive Therapy, Coaching, and Counseling.
Matt specializes in creating a unique and individualized therapy environment for men, women, and pre-marital couples who are seeking lasting life changes, personal growth, and self-fulfillment. Matt uses traditional therapy techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Choice Therapy, Psychodynamic and Brief Solution-Focused-Therapy in his Orlando therapy sessions. He also combines lifestyle coaching techniques with self-care, stress-management, and mindfulness work to create a holistic experience. Many of the clients Matt works with are seeking alternative solutions to medications for anxiety, depression, low motivation, OCD, low self-esteem or worth, and negative feelings or thought patterns.
Matt feels fortunate enough to have worked with exceptional professional coaches over the years who taught him the art of active listening and the power of positive influence. He has been able to practice these techniques with so many individuals over the years who were dealing with their own mental well-being and who were struggling to find their purpose in life.
Matt is also passionate about helping young couples build solid foundations for successful relationships. He works closely with his couples using expert Gottman therapy techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Couples therapy to help them conquer any obstacles together. Through this process couples can repair negative communication styles, maximize shared value systems, and feel confident moving into the next phase of their relationship.

Note about insurance: Orlando Thrive Therapy, Coaching, and Counseling is a self-pay practice, so we can focus on you as an individual rather than a diagnosis. This means that we do not work directly with insurance companies. We use a combination of psychotherapy, life coaching, mindfulness, and therapeutic techniques which provides you with a holistic approach for the best outcome. Matt's rates are based on the services he offers, and he will discuss with you the best course of treatment for your unique circumstance during your initial appointment.
When you schedule your first session, you will be sent a link to complete electronic paperwork. The first intake session will focus on getting to know one another and identifying your goals for therapy. This will help to determine your overall plan and how often you will need to meet for therapy. Matt will help you identify your goals quickly while providing a safe space to process difficult emotions or concerns.
Matt's rates for therapy vary based on the service provided. He offers pre-paid packages at a reduced rate and will gladly discuss this offer during your initial consultation. Payment is due at the time of your session.
