Matt Militano is an Orlando, Florida native and graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Matt joins the Orlando Thrive Therapy team for his practicum from Lindsey Wilson College and is directly supervised by Heather Oller, LMHC. Matt is currently in the last stages of his educational career working towards his Master of Education degree in Counseling and Human Development.
Matt is passionate about therapy for men, women, and couples who are seeking lasting life changes, personal growth, and self-fulfillment. Matt uses traditional therapy techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Choice Therapy, Psychodynamic and Brief Solution-Focused-Therapy in his Orlando therapy sessions, while he also incorporates lifestyle coaching, through self-care and mindfulness practices. His belief is that you have the power to change your circumstance and having the right life guide will get you there!
Matt's prior career experience is rather untraditional but has shaped him to be the therapist he is today. Matt has been fortunate enough to work with exceptional professional coaches over the years who have taught him the art of active listening and the power of positive influence. He was able to practice these techniques with so many individuals over the years who were dealing with their own mental well-being and who were struggling to find their purpose in life.
It was during this early phase of his career that he learned that his main calling was to be a part of the solution and to become the guide that people needed through their hard times.
Matt looks forward to being the guide for his Orlando Thrive clients to teach them what it takes to become empowered and confident, and to make the lasting life changes they are desperately seeking. He will give you the tools you need to Thrive rather than just survive!
